The result of our hotel crafting!  Took some ideas from pinterest to create an earring display for our walk in closet.  Burlap, corkboard, charm necklaces, and tacks.  Easy, effective, and pretty!

Wilma Derksen was at our church's Coffee Connection (ladies morning out) this morning to talk about her daughter Candace.  I had taken a photo of her but it didn't turn out that well, so I borrowed this one from the Free Press.

A gentleman at church has a talent for making cards. When Sophia saw an encouragement card he had made for our church's secretary last Sunday, she went and asked him if he could make one for her!  She wanted to keep it, so he made her two and gave them to her today - one for her to keep, and one to give away.  Very sweet of him - they tuned out beautifully!

Jacob got a few too many wall tracks as birthday gifts - finally got around to exchanging one set for some more track builder stuff.  Well, we ended up just keeping the wall track to bring to donate at Christmas time.  Jacob loves his tracks!

Sure is getting cold out already - hauled out the boots, boot cuffs, and scarf for the first time this year.  Heading out to Olive Garden for a late dinner with friends while our kids are at youth.

My garden did ok this year but learned a few lessons I need to remember for last year.  Planting strawberries was my best decision!  My worst decision was some of the other things I decided to plant - lettuce always seems to go bitter on me, and I'm not sure why I planted turnips when I've never even eaten them before (ended up giving them away).  Hoping the growing season lasts long enough to get some corn, but not holding out too much hope there.

Today was the first morning of Coffee Connections at our church this year - and the first time I led it as one of the co-chairs of the committee.  Looking forward to a great year!

Beautiful thank you flowers from a friend for "babysitting" her daughter.  Her daughter happens to be Sophia's best friend so this wasn't exactly a hardship, but I'll take flowers any day! :)

Emma and the rest of the youth group are on their way to this year's youth retreat - should be a blast!

First day back to school!

Emma in Grade 8, Sophia in Grade 6, Olivia in Grade 4, and Jacob in Grade 1.  It's the first year they're all in school all day every day, and the last year they're all in the same school together.

It's cooled off so much - it's time for the pool cover to go on during the night.  Hopefully pool season isn't over yet!

Jacob's special day with Mom - optometrist (no glasses needed!), dentist (no cavities!), Boston Pizza for lunch, Walmart for a toy, and McDonald's to play.
